Just this March, George Clooney made headlines by protesting the situation in Sudan in Washing D.C. and getting arrested for it! President Obama’s re-election team is giving out a chance for two supporters to attend a fundraiser with the president alongside Clooney at the actor’s house in Los Angeles.
“You, you heard it right, dinner with President Obama…at George Clooney’s house. Pretty incredible, right?” Julianna Smoot, deputy campaign manager, wrote in her email to supporters on Thursday.
Clooney has been notorious for supporting Obama and recently made political world headlines after testifying in Congress on the situation in South Sudan. He then allegedly visited the White House there in Washington to discuss the crisis with Obama.
The next day is when celebrity Clooney was arrested, as well as his father and others, whilst protesting outside embassy of Sudan. The indulgence paid to the state, with which so many Americans are familiar, was in the form of a fine for $100 Fed Notes.
Clooney called Obama a “rock star” during the presidents’ 2007 first presidential bid and is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In a statement through the CFR, Clooney quipped, “I’m honored to have been nominated…And I hear the initiation ritual is wild.”
