JP Morgan Chase & the Gold Standard Connection: JPM Donates to Republican CPAC’s
According to Politico’s Dave Levinthal, “JPMorgan Chase’s political action committee is back from self-imposed exile.”
According to the article, the committee made donations to 10 congressional leadership PACs on 31 July. It was the first round of federal-level donations the embattled company’s normally active PAC has made since early May, according to campaign finance documents. Here is a list of the donations worth an extremely marginal $36,000:
- Sens. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho),
- Bob Corker (R-Tenn.)
- Pat Roberts (R-Kansas),
- Reps. John Carney (D-Del.)
- Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.)
- Patrick Tiberi (R-Ohio
- Ron Kind (D-Wis.)
- Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.)
- Steve Stivers (R-Ohio)
- Scott Garrett (R-N.J.).
Of the ten contributions, eight went to Republicans, the gold standard party.
Could it be that Wall Street and the Republican Party are looking to give the US what they wanted so badly in Ron Paul? Not just a return to saner monetary policies, but also a dose of $1 trillion dollar austerity. I imagine presented sans Dr. Paul, however, the menu of cuts will be considerably more…austere.
